LECTURE SERIES:

BGHS&M presents to the community a series of hour long lectures:
Mondays at 4:00 p.m. at the Boca Grande Community Center Auditorium, followed by reception.

January 28, 2008 – Robin C. Brown, M.D. fossil expert presents “The Whale in the Swimming Hole”

*February 18, 2008 (Special time – 10:30 a.m.) – Geography Analyst, NBC News, Harm de Blij will give a special talk on Gasparilla Island In The Past And Future Of Global Climate Change. (Tickets will go on sale 2/11/2008 & 2/12/2008 from 10:00 – 12:00 in the Museum)

*March 10, 2008 (Special time – 11:00 a.m.) – Business and Real Estate Lawyer Michael Ingram presents an interesting talk on The Development of Gasparilla Island From South to North.

March 17, 2008 – Stan Fanrham, President of the Florida Lighthouse Association will speak on The History of Florida Lighthouses. This lecture is co-sponsored by the Barrier Island Parks Society.

Wednesdays in the Loggia of the Johann Fust Community Library:
A half hour illustrated talk is given by long time Boca Grande residents from 11:00 - 11:30 a.m. followed by refreshments and a question and answer period.

Boat Trip to Useppa Island: Thursday, November 8, 2007, join us for lunch on Useppa and a private tour of the museum.

Traditional American folk and country blues musician "Spider" John Koerner Concert: Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Amory Chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, January 4, 2008 in the museum.

Special Exhibition titled Designs for Paradise: Architecture and Lifestyle in Old Boca Grande: The Pelican Room at the Gasparilla Inn will host our Spring Exhibition.
