BGHS&M presents to the community a series of hour long lectures: Monday, January 23, 2012: Along The Caloosahatchee River: From ancient mastodons that once roamed its shores, to entrepreneurs and celebrities who relaxed on its waters. Presented by Author, Journalist, and Editor of Tropicalia magazine, Amy Bennett Williams. Monday, February 20, 2012: Caladesi Island: Yesteryear I Lived in Paradise: Myrtle Scharrer Betz's published personal account of growing up on Caladesi Island in the late 19th & early 20th centuries, presented by her granddaughter, Terry Fortner, Teacher, and Naturalist. Monday, March 19, 2012: A Brush with History: A Presentation by Artist Christopher Still. Florida Artists Hall of Fame Inductee Christopher Still will share his unique vision of Florida's history through his paintings. *(Lecture begins at 4:00 p.m. with reception in the Special Interest Room at the Community Center.)
